Marketing
First lets look at explicit marketing, this is where you tell someone something which is true, particularly about your product or service. The danger with this is that if thee is any space for disagreement or skepticism they will shot down your opinion instantly. Just think of any advert claiming to offer a function or service you believe is to good to be true, do you get your wallet out?
There are instances when this type of marketing can be valuable, this happens through word of mouth. So if someone else tells customers your product is best that can add some validity to your products claims. If many people tell your customers your product is the best that adds a lot of weight to your products claims.
The best way to gain this sort of weighty presence for your product you will need testimonials. These will give the customer the confidence to believe the claims as to the benefit of your product.
There is also implicit marketing, this is basically the self formed opinions that a customer will formulate on their own, without being told to believe anything. This is a more powerful then any form of explicit marketing. To unlock this you need to understand the reasons people dont buy so that you can better target your readers.
So why don't people buy?
One of the biggest reasons people don't buy comes down to peer pressure. The worry is that you won't be able to convince other people, friends and family mostly, that it was a good investment to make. Most refunds on a make money online information product happens after the buyer has told their family about it and the family is angry that its a con, that they have been taken in by a get rich quick scammer. The way to avoid this is for the customer to have an instant result, something that will stick in their minds. If they see the improvement in their lives right away, be it new traffic to their online business or an instant improvement to their golf game (assuming a learn to play better info product) they can show the family with proof in hand that it was a good investment. Tell a story it grabs attention and the word is mightier then the sword. Include a call to action, help get them up and using your product and excited about it!
Lets get some traffic!
Links can cost you either money or time. For the big businesses something like google adwords seems fine, the cost of apearing near the top of a search seems a small price when it means they can spend their time focused on other things. For the smaller business it can pay to take the time and go for the free links. This is where the list of sites comes in! If you are going to take the time so will I!

There are probably hundreds more sites out there to use to promote yourself but this should keep you busy for a while! Linking between different sites you own is also a way to create a network of sites promoting each other or the main site. To get peoples attention you must promote yourself and/or your product. Whether you are direct selling a product, back selling or affiliate selling you need to do some of the leg work to make yourself findable! Then make yourself (your product) desirable. Remember, motivate your customer into action and engage with them! Make it your mission that they get the benefits of what you are selling straight away.

Your word "learning so far" is exactly right. When you enter this game it is a constant learning then testing, then waiting, then learning and the cycle continues.

You are certainly getting a hang of this, Kirsten! I can definitely utilize some of your findings. Thanks.
Most people have no idea that Marketing and Sales are NOT the same thing. You can be the World's Best Marketer, but at the end of the day you still need the skill to sell.
